Monday October, 12 2015- Tuesday October, 20- 2015 (W.H.G. 4.1.2)

On Monday students will be involved in a class discussion on why religion is an important part of the human experience for billions of people on earth. Students will then hypothesize why many sociologists believe that organized religion is losing it's appeal for many people in Western Europe and The United States. On Monday and Tuesday students will complete a graphic organizer on the Six Major World Religions. They will utilize various assigned pages in the textbook to complete the graphic organizer which will allow for an inter comparison of the religions. After completion of the Graphic Organizer students will be introduced to an activity on the Mediterranean Sea. On Thursday students will watch a few short videos and react to the them on how the Abrahamic religions have evolved and are practiced. On Friday students will watch a few short videos and react on the religions of South and Southeast Asia have evolved and are practiced. Monday October 19 students will be coached on how to organize and write an inter-comparative essay on their understanding of the evolution and basic practice of the six major world religions. On Tuesday October 20th students will write their essay test for an test assessment.
